I am also not someone who readily cries. Sometimes this is tricky, because there are times when I want to show how sad I am for someone. \u00a0But the tears don\u2019t come. This could give the impression that I am cold hearted, made of stone. But that\u2019s not the case. Sometimes I just can\u2019t seem to get to my own tears. Lately, however, it seems that the tears are popping up to the surface more often. Once you open the channels that portray the suffering in the world, you see so much misery. Animal suffering, in particular, really touches me. It\u2019s easy to get downhearted or even depressed about it and to think: \u2018humanity deserves to go extinct\u2019. That may be the case, and nature could only benefit from it. But it\u2019s pointless and too easy. I believe we can create a society that is so much better than the way we live now. A society that is better for everyone and in harmony with the planet on which we live. Can we still save ourselves? Not a clue. Is it worth striving for? Hell yeah!!<\/p>\n\"2\"<\/a>\u00a0\"1\"<\/a>\n

It all starts with consciousness. That\u2019s why I\u2019m so happy with documentaries, such as \u2018The economics of happiness\u2019<\/a> and the film \u2018This changes everything\u2019<\/a> based on Naomi Klein\u2019s book, which will be released this month. These are documentaries that achieve two things: they show what\u2019s happening now, without sugar-coating the reality, and they offer solutions to change our destiny. That\u2019s exactly what we need. Measures such as shorter showers and banning the use of plastic bags is not enough. This is evident in this short documentary<\/a> , which I also recommend. Watch them, share them with friends, and talk about it! We simply can\u2019t afford to do nothing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
