A vision of the future: imagine that all throughout the Netherlands there are plots available for Tiny Houses. Almost every municipality has plots where you are allowed to live in a Tiny House for a certain period or even permanently. Imagine you are a freelancer or a student, having a job or internship for a certain period somewhere in the country. Imagine you have your own Tiny House you could bring along. Imagine there’s a website with listing of available plots, or maybe Tiny Houses for rent…
Wouldn’t that be awesome? I’ve had this idea for two years now. A website where people can look up and offer Tiny Houses and Tiny House locations. And you know that? It’s coming! And the name of this little miracle is:
But we’re not quite there yet. Although time is flying! I can tell you that the website is going to be even better than I could have imagined. Marcel van Mierlo from the blog Leven in tuinen is my partner in this project. Together we established the framework for the website and searched for a web designer that suited both us and the concept. Marcel has a special place in his heart for the Tiny House movement and small houses in general. I’m very glad to have his support, we get along really well and are on the same page when it comes to our vision of the Tiny House movement. TinyFindy is there to support the movement and take it to the next level.
What is it exactly?
On TinyFindy, companies and owners of Tiny Houses that are meant as primary dwelling units, can offer their houses for hire or for sale. Also, land owners can offer their plots that are suitable or can be made suitable for Tiny Houses. When you’re looking for a Tiny House or a piece of land for your Tiny House, you can perform a search on TinyFindy. You can browse on the map, in the blog or on the forum and you can even set an alert so you’ll get a message when there are new offers in your area. How great is that? I think it’s fantastic.
Webdesign
The website is built by Stichting Meo, and they’re doing a great job. Stichting Meo is a social enterprise, a learning company for people at a distance to the labor market. A whole team is working on TinyFindy and they’ve also created the gorgeous logo. Even better is that Stichting Meo is my neighbor; they reside in the Gasfabriek. So within seconds I’m there for coffee and deliberation. Convenient and fun at the same time! I’m a big fan of Stichting Meo, they’re doing such great work!
When is TinyFindy going live?
That’s the million-dollar question, isn’t it? If everything goes as planned, we’ll be online before Christmas. That would be a massive accomplishment, since Marcel and I only recently ordered the build of the website. But, I’m confident we’ll make the deadline, so that you can browse for Tiny Houses during your Christmas break. ;)

Oh, all the fun things I get to do! This gives me so much energy, it’s another dream come true. I sincerely hope this website will create added value to the Tiny House movement and that people will enjoy it. I expect that while in the beginning more houses than plots will be offered, the amount of plots offered will grow pretty quickly. What do you think? And do you think you might find this website useful? I’m curious to find out what you think, so please let me know!
