Sometime in March, I sowed my own Happy Bees flower mix in some of my vegetable garden boxes. I didn’t really know what else I wanted to put in, so I sowed generously — as a kind of experiment; I would see what would come out. Now I regularly walk past my house and see a beautiful wildflower sea with the buzz of insects. Bees, bumblebees, and more little flying beasties that I can’t identify. The happy bee flower mix not only makes the bee happy, it also makes me very happy!
June is the last month in which the flower mix can be sown. So, if you have a piece of garden left and you want to plant such a tiny flower meadow, now is the time to sow. You can only buy the happy bee flower mix this month through my webshop; then I will take it off. The germination rate will be a lot less next year so I can’t sell them anymore. I know there are bee mixes for sale everywhere these days, and also given away for free. Luckily, the realization has hit that we need insects and need to help them. The Marjolein in het klein happy bee flower mix is also in a very nice sachet. With a beautiful illustration of my house by Lidewij de Vries. A collector’s item really! :)
This month you can still order the happy bee flower mix from me and because it is the last month that you can still sow them, I am giving them away for the price of € 3.50 per sachet including shipping. If you buy two, you get the third for free. But whether you buy from me or get the seeds from elsewhere, do the bees and yourself a favor and start sowing!
