Did you hear? We’re going to have an actual Small Living Magazine in the Netherlands! A digital magazine stuffed with news, articles, columns, vlogs, so lots of inspiration and information about living small and everything that comes with it. Until April 27th you can become a member with a big discount: with crowdfunding you can read the magazine for only €1.25 and at the same time help launch this cool project as an ambassador.
Why a Small Living Magazine?
Ronald Lammers and Raymond Kool are the driving forces behind this initiative and explain:
‘Why a magazine on living small? We are asked this regularly when we talk about our Small Living Magazine. We can mention a number of reasons, but most of all because it’s fun for us! It’s fun to inspire people and let them know about all sorts of ways for tiny living.
Other reasons of course are because it’s necessary that more affordable houses are built, because we need to start leaving a smaller ecological footprint, because more and more single person households are emerging and because people feel the need to experience more freedom, nature and togetherness. But most of all, our motive is the love of tiny living. We want to create a fun and informative magazine. Not through a large publisher, but with our own laptop in our own tiny living room.’
I understand that completely, I share that love. I bet it’s going to be a magazine that makes you happy. A moment for yourself, snuggling up with a good cup of tea and your laptop or tablet to read about lovely little homes. Now that’s something to look forward to!
What can you expect?
So what kind of things will you find in Living Small Magazine? For starters, I’m going to write a regular column about living in a self-sufficient Tiny House and about the Tiny House movement in the Netherlands. You don’t need more reasons than that right? ;) But there’s much more:
‘We want to inspire as many people as possible with interviews, columns, reports and background stories. Not just for the living-small enthusiasts, but also for policy-makers and others that can influence society in order to create opportunities for living small. We’re doing this purely digitally, to reduce our ecological footprint and to offer a lot of interactive components. So it’s not just reading, but also interesting links, stunning photos and fun vlogs!’
From Tiny Houses to houseboats, from ‘van life’ to student housing, and from micro-apartments to Mongolian tents, you can read all about it in the Living Small Magazine. Ronald and Raymond have brought in inspiring people like Mick van Zadelhoff, who’s traveling around the world in a van he rebuilt entirely by himself. Regina Frakking will write a column on cooking delicious healthy food from your own vegetable garden and Jelle from Jelle’s Makkelijke Moestuin will help you grow your own vegetables. Every issue is stuffed with columns, blogs, vlogs and other exclusive stories, like from Marcel van Mierlo (Leven in Tuinen), Melanie and Bram (Offroad Dog), Noortje and Jan-Willem (Tiny House Academy) and Frieda Bakker (My Tiny House).
‘Right, I’m convinced!’
Very well, you won’t regret it! The membership fee will be small, but when you subscribe before the 27th of April you can read the Living Small Magazine for a really low price, starting at €1.25 per issue! There are also other rewards available, so check out the crowdfunding page!
I wish you lots of fun and success with the launch of your beautiful magazine, Ronald and Raymond!
