The time of holidays has arrived again. Thanksgiving, Sinterklaas, Christmas, and all the “gift giving” that usually accompanies it. Black Friday advertisements are spreading like wildfire and consumerism is booming. Do I want to participate? No, frankly not. But why then a December promotion? Well, I’ll explain that.
I am a self-employed person who earns a living by informing people and organizations about the Tiny House movement – by giving lectures, training, advice and many more activities. My work comes from my passion for this way of living, which is about so much more than just housing. It is about values that are important to me, such as taking better care of our earth, finding more connection with nature and the people around us. And it is about having the freedom of choice to follow your heart instead of the usual standard or whatever others think you should do. Earning money is not number one for me, but no matter what, I still have to pay the bills. And there is nothing wrong with that either.
I believe with all my heart that the products and services that I offer have a clear value that transcends materialism and serves a greater purpose. They are all focused on informing people on how to create space for living in a Tiny House and on inspiring people to live a little greener. Let’s face it: a lot of presents are going to be bought in the coming weeks. I hope you choose gifts that the recipient will be happy with, but also gifts that have only a limited impact on our beautiful planet. So, I hope that you will consider buying a gift from my little shop for your beloved brother, sister, dad, mom, child or friend, because I think it meets the latter condition. You are the better judge as to whether or not they will be happy with it ;)
That is why from now until January 1st you will receive a 10% discount on all products in my shop, with the exception of expert workshops and membership of the Register of (aspiring) Tiny House residents. The annual membership of the Register will be increased from €10 to €15 on January 1st, so if you are not yet a member, it is worthwhile becoming one this year. I hope you enjoy choosing your presents! Because as you already know giving a gift is much more fun than getting one!
